Soups are a common part of any Korean meal. They can be made into more formal soups known as tang or more thicker, heavier seasoned soups or stews called Jjigae. Equally known is Kimchi, which is mainly made with seasoned cabbage, radish or cucumber.  By no means Korea sweets can be left out by the discussion.  Gwapyoen, for instance, is noted for its jelly-like confection made by boiling sour fruits, starch and sugar.
